New Class — Torah and the Land

Join us for a new Torah study class Sundays at 4:30 p.m. beginning March 23. The class is entitled, “Torah and the Land: The Unconditional Promises to the Patriarchs and the Conditional Contract of Deuteronomy.”

The class will be led by Miriam Kaplan, a scholar in the chronology of the ancient world and an expert in the structure and symbolism of the Torah.

Using questions generated by archeology of the modern era, she will delve into the meanings and messages of this section of the Torah, and how they relate to the integrity of the Torah as a whole.

Her technique is to bring together texts that are widely separated but thematically connected and to study them in conjunction with each other, thereby gaining greater insight into each of the individual texts and into the integrity of the Torah as a whole.

The class is free and open-ended, with no meetings on the Sundays of Pesach.
